Arts and Crafts – a new exhibition
An exhibition of arts and crafts will be held in September this year. It will coincide with a one day conference on 3 September showcasing the work of our Lindholme Old Moor Management Group (more information in our next newsletter). The art and craft exhibition will include paintings, prints, photographs and ceramics as well as other craft work, with exhibitors drawn from the resident community, volunteers, those involved in Dharma practice and those responding to the natural environment around Lindholme Hall.

Whilst this is a first venture in staging an exhibition, we already have several exhibitors but would like to invite any who are interested in showing their work to contact Paul Vernum at Gomde or email paulvernum@btinternet.com with details of your work including a brief explanation, dimensions, medium and title. Applications are in hand to take the exhibition to the 20/21 gallery in Scunthorpe and hopefully other venues.

The Gomde Community
Our first ‘delegation’ of students, from our regular Tuesday meditation group, will visit our monastery at Boudanath in Nepal in March. They will meet a delegation from the study group on Wales and Lama Oser is organising various pilgrimages and teachings for the group – an account of their adventures will be published in our next newsletter. We wish them all happy travels and a fulfilling journey. May their visit be a cause to help unshakably establish the Dharma at Gomde, Lindholme Hall!

Meanwhile on the home front the causes and conditions to create a wonderful year of Dharma, teachings and practice, are steadily coming together. The resident community is growing; Andrew the new cook is already here cooking great food and Sue our new housekeeper arrives in the coming days.

There is much to do to get ready for the coming season and our first retreat of the year at the end of April with Lama Tenzin. As you know Gomde is run and sustained by volunteers and we rely heavily on the support of everyone connected here. We especially welcome all help with the important preparations for the coming year. We need help with DIY, building, carpentry, decorating, cleaning, log processing and gardening!  We will send out a schedule of organised work retreats but really help at any time is great. If you would like to help please contact national@gomde.org.uk  YOUR GOMDE NEEDS YOU!

2016 looks set to be a wonderful year full of teachings and blessings. We hope to see many of you here in the coming months — an island of jewels right here in UK!
